Chevy Suburban’s Hollywood Star Makes Texas Its Home

In 2019, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce gave the Chevy Suburban the Award of Excellence star — making it the first-ever vehicle to receive this coveted award. The Suburban has now brought this award to Arlington, Texas, celebrating the place where this movie star is assembled. The Award of Excellence star is located between the football stadium and ballpark in Arlington’s Entertainment District. It is the first award of its kind to remain in Texas permanently and is now open to the public. Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams took part in the unveiling of the star’s location and also announced that June 21, the day of the unveiling, is officially “Suburban Day.” The Suburban received the star after making an appearance in over 1,750 TV series and films. Its long career on the screen first began in 1952, and it has been in at least one TV show each year since 1956. The large SUV even landed roles in more than 30 award-nominated films. Not only is it the longest working actor in Hollywood, but the Suburban is also the longest-running nameplate, having made its debut back in 1935. The Arlington Assembly Plan started producing the model in 1999, and the model has since been extremely popular in Texas, with almost 200,000 Suburban vehicles on Texas roads last year. To get your hands on the award-winning Chevy Suburban, schedule a test drive at Atzenhoffer Chevrolet in Victoria, Texas.

New Electric Silverado Will Have Four-Wheel Steer

The Atzenhoffer Chevrolet team is enamored with the all-electric Silverado that Chevy currently has in the works. And there’s now one more feature on this truck to get excited about: Four-Wheel Steer. As Chevrolet explains, Four-Wheel Steer is an innovative chassis feature that allows the truck to steer all four wheels. Not only does this translate to a tighter turning radius when traveling slowly, but it enhances the truck’s handling and stability at faster speeds. This new feature will also boost the electric Silverado’s trailering dynamics, for more agile performance and the ability to navigate in tight circles even with a trailer in tow. Part of Chevy’s inspiration behind Four-Wheel Steer is likely the fact that the upcoming GMC Hummer EV has similar technology. The boosted agility and precision that this feature gives the electric Silverado will level the playing ground and help sway GM fans who are undecided about which of these two zero-emission models they should bring home. Right now, the electric Silverado is set to arrive as a 2023 model. Though, we should have more about this model soon since Chevy will officially debut this truck at the Consumer Electronics Show on Jan. 5, 2022. Distract yourself from anticipating this thrilling model and its cool Four-Wheel Steer technology when you stop by Atzenhoffer Chevrolet in Victoria to test-drive one of the Silverado trucks in our current inventory.

General Motors Going Carbon Neutral by 2040

In a bold step toward a better tomorrow, General Motors has announced that it plans to go fully carbon neutral by 2040. GM continues to prioritize the environment by committing to a science-based approach to reaching climate targets. A big part of this process will be transitioning GM brand lineups to electric vehicles. The automaker is committed to eliminating all tailpipe emissions from new light-duty vehicles by 2035. Chevrolet will play a big part in that, and the newly revealed Bolt and Bolt EUV show that the future of Chevy EVs is very bright indeed. “With this extraordinary step forward, GM is making it crystal clear that taking action to eliminate pollution from all new light-duty vehicles by 2035 is an essential element of any automaker’s business plan," said Environmental Defense Fund President Fred Krupp. In the walk-up between now and a carbon neutral future, General Motors will continue to invest in electric vehicles. GM will offer 30 EVs around the world by the middle of this decade, and 40 percent of new GM vehicles sold in America by 2025 will be fully electric. Other ways GM will achieve carbon neutrality include sourcing 100 percent of the energy it uses in the United States from renewable sources by 2030. GM is also working with its supply change to implement meaningful changes and working with EVgo to expand its national charging network. The future of Chevrolet certainly looks electrifying.
