Since its founding in 1926, our dealership has been committed to providing exceptional customer service and automotive excellence. Our story spans generations. From our early showroom to our modern dealership facility today, Atzenhoffer Chevrolet continues to be deeply connected to the Victoria community. Our founder, Ed Atzenhoffer, believed that when you take care of the customer, the rest will take care of itself. That belief continues to guide our team every day.

Edgar L. Atzenhoffer founded the dealership in 1926 at just 23 years old, starting with only two employees. The young company grew rapidly, delivering 396 new vehicles in less than two years. Despite the challenges of the Great Depression, Atzenhoffer continued to expand and serve Victoria, Texas, along with surrounding communities, including Corpus Christi, Beeville, El Campo, Rockport, Cuero, Hallettsville, Port Lavaca, Bay City, Seguin, Gonzales, and beyond.

In 1951, Milton S. Greeson, Ed Atzenhoffer’s son-in-law, joined the company. He gained experience throughout the dealership, including the body shop, service department, new car sales, and used car management, before acquiring a financial interest in 1962.

On August 24, 1963, the dealership opened a new 40,000-square-foot facility on North Navarro Street in Victoria, which would later become a major thoroughfare. Over the years, the location expanded significantly with:

• A truck service facility (1978)
• Mitsubishi franchise (1990)
• Mazda franchise (1997)
• A 20,000-square-foot parts warehouse (1999)
• Cadillac franchise (2002)
• A dedicated truck sales building for retail and commercial customers (2004)

In 1974, Milton S. Greeson Jr. joined the firm after graduating from the University of Texas. Having already worked at the dealership prior to high school, he gained experience across all departments, including service, body shop, sales management, and was Dealer Principal until his retirement in 2025..

Continuing the family tradition, Tommy Greeson Taylor, great-grandson of Ed Atzenhoffer, joined the company in September 2003 after graduating from Texas Christian University. Like the generations before him, he gained hands-on experience across multiple departments and now serves as Dealer Principal.

In 2006, the company expanded again with the opening of a new Used Car Center and Pro Shop automotive accessory center located a quarter mile from the original site. The Used Car Center featured a showroom, dedicated reconditioning staff, and room for future growth. The Pro Shop offered a wide range of automotive accessories with full in-house installation capabilities.

Today, that property is home to Atzenhoffer’s Velocity Powersports, offering an extensive selection of new and pre-owned motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, personal watercraft, and golf carts.
